Ben Melby is a Senior Lecturer in the NDSU English department, who teaches a wide range of first-year and upper-division writing courses. He is committed to teaching social and environmental justice. Since becoming a TC (teaching consultant) in 2016, he has experienced first-hand how the writing project works to connect, support, and inspire a broader community of writers—across grade-level boundaries, across community boundaries, and across geographic boundaries. He looks forward to an expanded role within the Red River Valley Writing Project while serving as interim director this year while Kelly Sassi is on developmental leave.
